Established in 1989, Hitachi Asia operates in 11 offices across 7 Asian countries (India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam). Hitachi Asia has full responsibility for Hitachi’s sales and marketing operations in Asia – in market sectors such as information systems, power and industrial systems, digital media systems, consumer products and international procurement. Hitachi Asia’s belief in corporate social responsibility is reflected through its participation in programmes and activities which improve the quality of life in the local communities in which it operates.
Since 1991, Singapore's annual Christmas Light–Up on Orchard Road is one of the Hitachi Group's longest standing community contribution programs. In conjunction with the Light–Up, the Hitachi Group helps to raise necessary funds to sustain social service programs under the National Council of Social Services. These programs help to nurture children, support people with disabilities, bring families together and care for the elderly.
